Default Why don't realtors know anything about advising clients on vacant home insurance

If you mention Vacant Home Insurance to a realtor, about 90% have no idea what you are talking about. Realtors,... instead of reading up on what kind of granite the house you are showing has, give your clients something of real value so they can avoid financial catastrosphe.

If your clients have a home that is empty or vacant for over 90 days, there is a real chance they have lost or will soon lose their homeowners insurance coverage. You can't keep this secret from the insurance company and expect them to honor a claim.

Homes that are not lived in need special coverage. Going by to check up on things or living there one night a week and all the other hokus pokus advice does not satisfy what the insurer requires.

This is a bit of a rough statement many of us that are true pros know about vacant home insurance. Anytime I have a listing that is vacant as the homeowner has moved away I suggest to them that they add coverage for the home being vacant. You are talking to those individuals that really do not know many things about their profession and I would say that this one issue is not the primary one.
