    Default conceal and carry

I was concerned to discover that my real estate agent carries a gun (he has a conceal and carry permit). He is not aware I know about this. I have been happy with his services so far, but I'm not sure I should get into a car with a man with a gun. How should I address this with him? Is it common for a real estate agent to carry a gun?

It is unheard of here but this is a very safe area. If he works in dangerous neighborhoods then it makes sense.

If you are not comfortable with it, then tell him to leave it at his office or in the trunk of his car.

I agree with Greg. If you're uncomfortable then tell him to leave the gun at home. Personally, I don't like the idea at all even if I knew the person well.

Sadly, because of the times we live in many people have decided to get concealed carry permits. It does not mean they are bad people.

Since agents go into rough areas or meet people at empty homes that they have never meet before, it is advisable that the agent have some means of self defense. Common sense is the best method of self defense but nothing stops a crack head like a hollow point.

No its definitely not common for a Realtor to carry a gun! I would talk to him and express your concerns and understand why he does it. Then based on the conversation either tell him to not bring it with him when he is with you are allow him to have it with him. Regardless of what you do, have the conversation with him.

    Default The Gun

Well, I agree you should have a conversation with the realtor and ask him why is he carrying a fire arm. I know a lot of people that have a weapon in there vehicle. So it depends. Their have been some time when the realtor was rob, so that might be a reason to carry a weapon.

It's reasonable to concealed carry as a real estate agent because experienced agents I know have told me stories of crazy people robbing them.

If he has a permit and no criminal record, I do not see a problem. Some of us going into some really tough areas and I'd rather be safe than sorry.

    QFT.

If he has a permit, it means he's not a criminal.

Think about it like this: whens the last time that YOU picked up a stranger, and drove them out to remote parts of other counties...all alone, and possibly in the evening/night.

Real estate agents commonly do this everyday.

If you are uncomfortable with it, ask them to leave it at home. Simple enough IMO.

I am not a realtor, but I carry. I don't carry because I think its cool or I have otherwise bad intentions; I carry because I would rather be safe than sorry. I have a permit to do so also.

The realtor is probably just concerned for his safety like mentioned in the post above this one. I wouldn't want to go with people I didn't know without protection.

Talk with the realtor, and ask why he carries. I bet you it will be along those lines. Then make your decision.
