Default Looking to buy a house in Florida but

I want to know why it's less expensive in Pinellas County than Broward? I want to buy a vacation home for now w/the intent to move in 6 yrs. Have no idea where in Fl. I want a condo (because I don't have time to maintain it regularly), I don' want it too close to Miami but not as far as Venice (too many retirees, no offense) . Im working w/ two realtors. One near Ft. Lauderdale and the other in Pinellas Park. Which do you think is better living? I'm 40. love the beach, want a safe neighborhood, enjoy quietness but want a place w/ a nightlife as well. want to be near highways since I intend to work when I move, but not the craziness of Miami. any suggestions?

I've got a friend that just transferred with Samsung from Cali to Florida. My suggestion is rent first and try out both scenes before committing to purchase. If you can secure a short term 3-6 month lease, this will give you time to get familiar with both areas and ultimately allow you to make a more informed final decision.

I sell in a resort area where people who have only ever visited here want to move here. I always tell them to come back during the different times of the year to see if it is still what they envision.

Fl is the same. You should slow down your purchase, you have 6 years, and take the time to get to know the areas you are considering. From your questions it sounds like you do not know either area very well.

Why is it more expensive in New York or San Francisco than in Nebraska? Because there is a higher demand.

You note that you are working with 2 salespeople. Choose one (not necesarrily one of the 2 you are currently working with) hire them, and have them find you what will work best for you.
