    Default Home Improvement Dilema

Hello. I am getting my house re-appraised and I have time for one more project, and I am trying to decide which would add more value. Option 1: The first floor of the house (about 1000 sq ft) is parkay floors and I was going to refinish the floors. Right now they are in OK shape but there are some spots that are pretty rough. Option 2: Install double sinks into the master bath. Both projects I will be doing on my own, and I am not overly concerned about the initial cost so price of the projects should not be taken into consideration.

    Thanks!
    Zac

Appraisers are human and first impressions are important. If I had that decision, I would most likely choose the floor.

The floor is the better choice. More work, but adds more value.

I would say the floor too. Make sure what you have is in tip top condition before adding or changing something else.

I don't think either of these projects will affect the outcome of an appraisal by any noticeable amount so don't get your hopes up too high..
