Default How to Buy a Model Home From a Builder?

Most model homes include free upgrades, designer paint and designer window coverings. Builders often sell homes before they are constructed based on the layout of the model home, so they want the model to show beautifully and spare little expense decorating it. Then they sell the upgrades separately to buyers who purchase a home that is not yet built. Pick the home with the best upgrades and layout.

I'm not sure where you live, but no builder I have ever met includes "extras" for free.

Builders usually sell the model homes, prior to construction, then rent them back during the selling phase (they take excellent care of them) and when the subdivision is completed, the owner gets a model home (less the furniture) to either live in or sell, as they wish.

For the buyer, this arrangement is usually a great deal. The builder usually raises the pricing (sometimes several times) during the sales period, so the appreciation for the owner is built in by the builder.

As far as making arrangements to buy one, are you working with an experienced real estate salesperson? These folks often have all kinds of information.
