Getting the runaround. HELP!!!
Hello all, thank you for looking, im having a little trouble here and was wondering if anyone might be able to help. Thanks. Here it goes.....My fiance and I went to look at a house that is owned by a realtor. The agent that was showing us the house said that she wanted to sell it and that she was pretty negotiable on the price. We offered and she accepted. We go in and fill out all of the paperwork and get a closing date of August 10th. We requested to see the house again on Saturday and she said ok. The day of she said that she can't leave the "floor" because she has someone else coming in from Fairfax looking at 26 acres and they have to walk all 26 acres. So she told us we can look at it on Sunday. So...Sunday comes and we wait around all day until about 4:00. I decided to call her and she then tells me that today is her only day off and she just really needs to get some stuff done. No call, nothing. Ok. We'll go see it Tuesday at 5:00. Tuesday comes along, then we find out she has a meeting at 6:00 that she doesn't want to be late for. So she tells us Wednesday at 5:00 it is. I go there after work to re-initial some papers and she tells me that the inspections needs to be done within 7 days. I said ok I'll see who I can get to inspect it in that time frame. I'll see if I can possibly get someone who can do it tomorrow (Wednesday) since we'll already be there. She said "Oh well yeah because actually we have to get permission from (the realtor who is selling the home) to go into the place and she said we can't go in unless we are inspecting it so if we can't get it inspected tomorrow than we can't go it and see it." We are first time homebuyers and I have to say I am not pleased with my experience. The whole bit about the only way we can go see the house is if we are having it inspected. Anyone have a take on this? Any suggestions or ideas on whether or not this is ok to do to a buyer? Thank you so much for reading and any responses in advance!!!

I can't imagine why you are being treated this way. It's to the Selling agent's advantage to get you back into the house so that you can re-confirm your purchase both logically & emotionally. It's to the owner's advantage (in this case the listing agent) for this to happen as well. As a Buyer I'd insist on my agent making an appointment for me to view the house irrespective of my agent's schedule ie: if my agent can't be there then another agent from the same office could stand in. If your agent balks at that, I'd contact the Broker of the company & complain. If that does not get you in the door, I'd go directly to the owner / agent. If all that fails, I'd really wonder what their motives were & perhaps question if this really was the house for me.
Good - luck

You might try having your agent talk to the seller/seller's agent. I would also suggest that you & your agent be there while the inspections are being done. It is a good time to ask your agent and inspector any questions you may have about the house.
