Buying a driveway
I live in a 3 family building in Boston that has been turned into condos. The person that owns the third floor got rights to the driveway since he was the first one to move in (I don't know what he payed for it). He has come into some money troubles and now is willing to sell the driveway. Offstreet parking is very hard to come buy around here so not only would the convenience of it be great but I feel it would help my resale. Im wondering how I could legally go about doing this and what a fair price for the driveway would be.
thanks
Jay

Laws, protocols, and customs are likely to vary from state to state.
If you wanted to try "on the cheap", you could contact a local real estate agent that you work with and get their input/guidance.
The better way would be to contact a real estate attorney that could draw up the appropriate agreement.

You need an attorney for this one. The condo documents will tell if it is even possible to separate the driveway from the condo. The owner may not have the right to sell the driveway.
If the owner can sell make sure you do it correctly or you might end up just giving them some money and get nothing in return.Your Outer Banks real estate agent. Learn how to buy Outer Banks foreclosures.
