    Default Tax Info

    Hello,

Can anyone help me with info on taxes? I am finding land (in a single family, residential developement) listed as being owned by the HOA Inc. However when I look the lots up in the town tax records it says $0 tax collected.

Does anyone know how the tax is collected for these properties and who or where the records would be?
    Thanks!
    Zeeshan Dar

Your best bet is to call your local collector's office and ask them. Property tax is a very local thing and can differ greatly between counties and states.

It is possible this land has been zoned as some type of public open space and is unbuildable. That would explain the 0 dollar tax amount.

Just because land is for sale does not necessarily mean the land is build-able. I know someone who bought land in this exact situation and now they are in court fighting the town over what they can do with the land.
