I am not a realtor, but a private investor. I am curious to know, if the MLS is such a great place to list your properties, why is it I see more and more realtors listing on the various 'for sale by owner' sites, even though many of them state they are specifically for homeowners and not realtors?

I understand you use every available avenue to market your properties, so do I. I also understand that there are many realtors out there that do not feel private investors should be able to buy or sell houses on their own and that there is legislation attempting to be pushed thru many state and federal legistrations to limit what we can and cannot do [I hear the rumbling of a 'monopoly' being formed]. Sorry if this applies to anyone reading this and even sorrier you are so intimidated by one of the groups that often buy the properties you list.

I just was wondering what advantage the MLS gives realtors, if any. Since it is unavailable to me, I am more curious than concerned.

Thanks
