Default Looking in the Kissimmee/Orlando area for 2nd house

    Hi folks...need some help here.

I am looking for a single family home in the Kissimmee/Orlando area. After briefly looking online, I believe that I am in the market for 3br house around the 150K mark....

    1. This will be a second home for me. I am not selling my current home in MI.
    2. I have about (in today's market) 25K in equity in my existing home.
    3. I have minimal debt in comparison to income.
    4. I intend to put down 10% max.
    5. I intend on using the property as a rental for a period of 5 years until I retire and use the home in the winter months.

    Questions:

    1. Can you recommend an area in Orlando that is better than another.
    2. I haven't started to look into financing. I have great credit, will I have a problem in today's mortgage climate about getting a second home loan?
    3. Are mortgage companies looking for more down payment?

If anyone responds, I am sure to have more questions....thank you in advance.

    Default Come to Central Florida!

    Dear Retirement Bound,
I am a Realtor in the northeast Orlando area and would be happy to assist you in your home search. As you know, we are in a very challenging market at this time, but if you are a Buyer, you have a lot of options. The Oviedo area is a good area to buy in because it is near the University of Central Florida which can provide a good rental pool for you. If you would like me to pursue a home search for you, please visit my website at OrlandoRealtySource.com and contact me. I look forward to discussing real estate possibilities with you.
    Best regards,
    Joyce, Orlando Realty Source
