    Default Is this a scam?

Ok, these ads are pretty annoying and they're popping up in Craig's list everywhere. Unfortunately I can't post a url to it due to the restrictions of being new.

There are ads for what I'm guessing are foreclosures. However it's to assume the payment of a mortgage (if that's even possible, most loans can't be transferred). The payments listed seem too good to be true and as the saying goes, "If it's too good to be true, it probably isn't". So can someone explain to me what the idea is behind this? This seems like a scam to me.

Search around craigs list on the rentals, I did for Los Angeles and the rentals are flooded with those annoying ads.

Well, these days, banks are rather go with someone who can assume and pay a mortgage instead of no money at all and foreclosed.
Very few banks will call the due on sale clause, so go ahead...be creative...
Now, in regards of "fake" ads, again, go ahead. Call and ask to pay what they are saying in their ads or you'll sue. Easy as 1-2-3...

It seems to me a large number of listings on craigslist are scams, then there are those that repost every few days automatically (so when you respond to them, you are told the house has been sold long ago, though the listing continues...). Only a small amount are real ones. It is very frustrating. To add to that, the listings are often too exaggerating. They may say "just off the station", when you actually have to walk 25 minutes.

CL is a site where anyone can place a post, so you'll have to be very careful with anyone that you contact with or any offer made on there.

It is ashame there are those that post to Craigslist as scammers. In fact my brother in law got scammed on the house for rent ad. People said there were in Nigeria on a mission and to send them a deposit to hold the property. Despite that Craigslist is a tremendous marketing tool and can be used to dry tons of traffic and leads.

Yeah the Nigerian one is a classic, unfortunately my brother in law doesn't do much online or on Craigslist.
