Wordpress blog and listings database

Does anyone know if there's a way to incorporate a listings database into wordpress? Or if the listings database is done with php, is there a way to send certain listings from the database to wordpress. As an example, I'd like to have some featured listings on the home page of my wordpress site - which would be taken from the php listings database. Unless there is some sort of program that works with wordpress for listings?

Kind of on the same subject I was wondering if there was anyway to use a RSS feed to feed a blog into your website.
