Knowing exactly what you're asking would be helpful.

There is a good article on Wikipedia about Spam. The 15 post URL rule deturs me from posting a direct link, but if you google "wikipedia spam" the first result will be the right one.

Are you wondering why some e-mail programs automatically mark messages from you as spam when they are received?

Spam is evil. Don't do it - you'll loose a lot more than you'll ever gain with it.

IS there a way to advertise for free without the negative label of being spam. because my companies funds are limited but we do not want to anger any prospective clients

Of course there are. However, for the purposes of this thread and bulk e-mail, there are no good options.

If someone opts into your newsletter and you are providing them with information that they have said they want, this is not spam.

If you buy an e-mail list and send your message to general recipients, that's spam. There are literally hundreds of different ways to send spam - hopefully this quick comment illustrates at least a base difference.

    Glad to hear I helped - thank-you.

E-mail marketing & spam are dirty businesses. There is not a way to "stop your e-mail from being listed in the buying of email".

What is the best way to tell the difference between someone just opting into your news letter and spam?
