Exclamation Rich Dad Academy - Is it a SCAM?

    Hello, everyone!

I am new to this forum and to real estate investing. I have recently attended a seminar by Rich dad academy. Although the information that was presented at the seminar made sense, a good portion of the seminar consisted of selling us some more classes. I am very sceptical about investing $9,000 into only 3 days worth of training that is supposed to make me a master at a certain real estate technique. So, here is my request for anyone who has been though their training, and accomplished something, or not accomplish anything at all: please, SHARE! I am asking for your opinions/thoughts, subjective and objective. Those of you that have friends/family that have gone through these classes, please share.

    Thank you all in advance.

I've read a couple of his books, and I sincerely doubt that the seminar is worth $9,000... however, I think there are a few things to learn from his books that I might be willing to pay $20 to buy the book. However, keep in mind that guys like this are in the publishing/seminar business, not the real estate business, and that's how they are getting rich.

There is a lot of good with Rich Dad Poor Dad, but the good you recieve is mainly motivational. "YES I CAN" type of stuff, if you really want to learn about specific real estate techniques, either find a local investor whos doing them, or take one of the classes from getrealrei.com they have specific step by step guides on how to perform different real estate transactions

9 grand!!! Tell you what... go to Amazon and buy real estate books on investing. Then join a local real estate club close to where you live and network with your local pros. 9 grand will make a nice down payment on your first investment property. IMHO

Save your money. Put it towards buying real estate instead. Don't rush, 3 days can NEVER make you a master at almost anything. Good content -- maybe for a newbie.

It's good that you are checking around.

Google shows up with a lot of info.

Look, Like most "seminars" they ALL sell something. Thats how they make their money.

They tell you how to make money selling door knobs while your making them rich buying some stupid program for 9k.

You MUST continually pound "good" stuff in your head every day or risk being overcome by the 6:00 news....but for 9k go buy some intilligent :-)business books, real estate books, success books or better yet read online for free from people who already been through it.

    Well,

there are a lot of "succesfull business guys" out there who are willing to share their "secrets" with you...

But I don't understand, if they're that succesfull, why don't they continue doing what they are best in? Instead of this they're writing books and making seminaries.

In my opinion most of them got rich by writing books.

And 9k...too much, and nobody will make an expert from you in just 3 days.

Yes seems every major seminar in the country rolls through Florida. I had a friend who bought the Rich Dad coaching program and once a week he talks with some call center coach over the phone. Guy doesn't know **** and he can't get his money back.

The problem with seminars and courses is once the show is over - it is just you all by yourslef. After wasting seven grand on seminars, books & tapes I just found this investor guy and hired him to show me what to do. Google investorman. We did a consultant agmt for 1 year. He wasn't cheap but I have unlimited access to him. The cost was more than paid for with my first deal. Yes everyone will tell you to join a real estate investment club but what I found is the big players don't go to the meetings. My local meetings are more like therapy for people getting ready to get ready who have never done a deal.
