Question 7,500 Home Buyer Tax Credit? Question After The Fact...

Well I just got a nice letter from the IRS that i have to repay starting next year.

Anyways I bought my house back in Sept. of 2008. I didn't claim the credit until April of 2009. So during this time it went back and forth that the credit was going to be free in other words, versus the initial repayment loan. So by the time it came time to file taxes, I heard and my tax guy confirmed I didn't have to repay. So i went for it! Got the money and everything. However now i'm told that i do have to pay.

I read on some website ( i wish i could of saved the link ) that there is a form or method to appeal it in order to not have to repay it.

Does anyone have any info about this part?
