Red face Should I become a Real Estate Agent?

I was just laid off from my job and feel like I need a career switch. I thought of going into real estate and selling either in NY or FL. I was wondering if this is a good idea at this time and what state has the better rate of success. Keep in mind that I only made 60k per year at my job, so I have nothing to loose, right?

Any advice or encouragement would be very much appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Chris

If you have a large enough nest egg saved up to pay all your bills for a year or so, at least until you are making money and are established, why not? But I would suggest also checking the statistics regarding agent income in your area and see if the average income would be enough for you.

Sure, why not. Keep in mind that the average time for the first check is 9 months, unless daddy or a family member is waiting for you to be licensed...

If you are very much dedicated in entering the real estate world plus you have the skills to qualify on that job, then why not pursue it.

If you have the skills and contacts then why not? It's really hard to do things that you don't like anymore.Don't force yourself in doing things that you think you're done with. You can evade torturing yourself mentally by not going back to your old job.Have a life and get out of there.Pursue your new choice of career and break a leg.Just be reminded to always do your best.It doesn't matter how slow you go as long as you never stop.

There is no harm in trying as long as you really love to do that kind of work.
