Being a newer agent, there are many things that I am unsure of. I work for a boutique firm in the Florida Panhandle. Our office has sold over $60million dollars this year, but the three partners seem to be so GREEDY. We all pay good money for our space and advertising, but the partners get all the leads that come in and then lie about them. How is this supposed to work?? I feel that their dishonesty causes a lot of mistrust.

Well, if you don't feel confortable where you are, just go to another brokerage. It's not difficult. Most importantly, you need to feel good where you are...

Yeah, if you are not comfortable with the way things operate at your current brokerage, just leave. Especially being a newer agent, you are not entrenched and probably don't have that much to lose. When you go to your new brokerage, negotiate your exit strategy with them when you first start.

Thanks Mike,

I am just not sure what to truly expect from my broker. The 3 partners have done like so many agents here and gotten themselves in financial trouble. They bought so many properties when they were all making so much money and now they are being foreclosed on. It is so crazy.

I'm new so I don't know what exactly we're supposed to expect from the hiring brokers. I still think you should feel comfortable where you work and it would be better if you were surrounded by success instead of failure and chaos, JMO.
Keep in mind that if you get any deals started and then you decide to leave, those deals belong to the broker not you, unless you negotiated otherwise.
I can't say if you should stay or leave but I encourage you to talk to other brokers in your area and see what they have to offer. Don't make any sudden moves until you are well informed.
Remember the brokers need you more than you need them. Good luck finding a fair and comfortable place to work, let us know what you decide. :)

Thanks for everyone's input in my situation. My husband and I have gone to our broker and partners and we are working out the week there. We have spoken with several other agencies and have found one that we think we will be more comfortable. You make the decision and hope for the best, but we had to do it. We are leaving on good terms and that's real important to us.

That's great you were able to work things out and not burn any bridges. Good luck at the new place.

Kholder, being that you are newer how much production are you grossing in this market? I imagine that between the greed, slower market and the move to a new Brokerage you'll be in a cashflow crunch. I thought I'd share some new ideas if I had an idea of your production.
