A realtor is a designation given to both agents and brokers that are part of the board of realtors. The difference between a agent and a broker is that agents work under the umbrella as independent contractors of the broker. The broker is required to have a physical office other than their home in most states. They are also expected to have at minimium two years experience in the last three years of working as an active real estate agent. In addition to this they are required to have gone through more education than an agent and they take a more comprehensive exam than agents to gain their license. Hope I have helped feel free to ask me any other questions you might have.
