hi there,im only new to this to but i know that, basically yeah there doing optimizing by link exchange and stuff its a repeated process but it should be put on the right link and stuff..or it won't be as effective.:)

it is not rocket science and everything you need to know is on google. It will take up a lot of time though.

SEO is about getting your site to the top of google search results. So, if you write an article and someone then visits your site because they did a google search on 4 words, which happen to be the title of your article, then you have done well.

Now, obviously if that 1 becomes 10000, then it is highly likely that you have made money through products you are selling on your site or through google adsense.

Why don't you check out your competition. If they had SEO done for them then you will often find a company name in their source code - hidden advertising :D.
