Well, Bill Gates has finally made a statement about the new MSN Beta Search at:http://specials.msn.com/letter/billgates.html?GT1=6190, and believe it or not is looking for feedback! Here is you chance boys and girls!

After digesting that go to http://www.imagine-msn.com/search/tour/builder.aspx

By the looks of things, the MSN Beta has now officially replaced MSN Search. Even the MSN Home page (http://www.msn.com/) has a new cleaner, faster loading page design.

So far, I am really impressed with what I see and like the good relevant search results. It appears Mr. Gates has his sites set on MSN (http://www.msn.com/) becoming the #1 Search Engine, and looks like he is pulling out all the stops. And often as not, once Bill Gates puts his mind to something it becomes reality.

The only feedback I have for Bill is leave my brand new SEO site on the front page. LOL

I'm #9 well at least for today. :)

Now, if he could only make a really stable operation system... :) I do think MSN has a shot at being a contender. I'm sure G will be rolling something out soon to keep at the top of the heap. I'm betting the biggest loser will be Yahoo. Competition is a great thing.

God knows they need it, and I would love to see a battle royal for the top SE.

That just means more relevant results in the SERPS.

Unless Google removes their infamous filters to allow more relevant results, it just won’t happen.

Surfers want good results the first time. Like I said in another post, when I go to a restaurant, I expect to be served what I ordered, not what they want me to eat.

And don’t count Yahoo! out. They are turning out very relevant searches and are in the running for the top spot IMHO.

Currently I see the Relevancy Rankings for the Search Engines as follows:
1. Yahoo! (http://www.yahoo.com/)
2. MSN Search (http://www.msn.com/)
3. Google (http://www.google.com/)

What are your thoughts?

Obviously I'm liking Google's results for certain things at the moment :) But I have to say MSN had better results a month ago. It seems that old tricks work well in the new MSN and even better in yahoo. Site wide links will almost guarantee you a top spot on Yahoo. Google has started to filter those types of things out, along with multiple links from the same ip. Unfortunately, their best filter happened a couple months ago but for some reason they removed it. It took out a lot of big directory sites with pages designed just for se's. I like the fact that MSN will put up individual pages in their results if they are extremely relevant, where as google is a little reluctant to do so. Of course the best thing would be for someone to combine the best features of all three....

MSN has that marketing giant behind them as well, IMHO googles results are less relevant than msn or yahoo's. Google has rolled back from the feb 2nd update but once they calibrate the DCs even with us at # 3 I still dont think the results are relevant. I also now have first hand knowledge of the traffic being in top 3, compared to msn and yahoo, google traffic isnt much better. IMHO google is overrated for traffic for the real estate industry.

MSN and Yahoo combine since the # 3 position in google had a 2.5 to 1 ratio over google. I also noticed a lot of junk that came from google as well, whereas the leads coming from msn and yahoo have been from people that are serious moreso than google leads.

Jade456,

I have to agree with Wayne. Even with some spam getting through, MSN seems to have more relevant results IMHO.

Spam and duplicate content drives me crazy too, but nothing like newspaper articles and several month old press releases appearing in the top 10 for real estate.

MSN will get the bugs out and the spam off I am sure.

MSN knows that the time is now to stop missing out on the search engine domination of the web. I like their new commercial. This is almost getting to be exciting :D (I sound like a geek now  )

Looks like MSN just did a major update. Results are looking pretty good. Some of the questionable listings that snuck in are gone. :D

Yes, I think they did that a couple of days ago Jade456.

One of the spam sites still shows up at the top on MANY search phrases for Las Vegas Real Estate.

I’m sure they will keep tweaking the system, but your right the SERPs are looking pretty good.

I knew it was too good to last. These are the worst results I've ever seen by any se: http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?FORM=MSNH&srch_type=0&q=las+vegas+real+esate I particularly like the French Riviera site and Miami sites, at least miami is on the same continent as Las Vegas. So much for MSN being most relevant. :(

Not to mention the fact that Wayne and I are both bald and both have a goatee.

That it!! Mike shave your head and grow a goatee and we can make all of our detractors think they are seeing things. :D
