Depends on where you are in NY? There are lots of good sites to advertise on linked to the city.

i'm looking to advertise houses in Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens.
any suggestions?
so far i'm advertising on craigslist and backpages but not much luck so i need to see what other free sites i could advertise.

also any other ideas about where to advertise? does newspapers work very good? i'll be posting an ad on the NY Post but i would like to do more online.

In Brooklyn, try to break it down by neighborhood. I know this comes as a shock to those in other parts of the country but NY is still very much segregated by neighborhood and it's important to market to your target over there. Coming from Florida myself... it shocked me too because I'm used to a big ole melting pot and never knew people still lived within ethnically mixed challenged (for lack of a better term) neighborhoods. So if you have a home in brooklyn that you know is favored by a particular ethnic group, shoot for those papers. For instance if you have something in Gravesend or Brighton or Sheepshead Bay... advertise in the Russian paper. If you have something in Madison or Midwood, shoot for the Jewish Press. You get the drift... the ads are not free by any means but if you're looking for a paper... don't think the Post is all that's available. Don't overlook the others...

If you want to target other agents, try an html email blast from "always keep in touch". It hits 5,280 realtors in brooklyn, manhattan, and staten island. you could send all your outer borough listings this way too... not just brooklyn.

For craigslist, try wording your ads to generate attention. Next time you want to ask for a price drop, instead suggest offering a bonus to the buyer. Something equal in value to the price drop. This way you mention the bonus in all your ad headlines... that'll generate more attention and hopefully get the ball rolling for you.
