How about mine ?
www.estatefirms.com ?
It's a paid directory, $24.95 for a 1 year listing. (Does that sound like $2 a month) ?

Since I got invied officially I will post mine ;)
http://www.ibsteam.net/wsnlinks/
We have paid and free options - I wouldn't like to discuss paid ones, so here are the free:
Our directory provides you with a free listing that pretty much similar to any other directories and includes your Title, URL and Description, but that's not all - in addition to that you can include a direct link to your MLS Search page and direct link to your listings page - this way our visitors can go straight to the point :) Also, if you happend to have Real Estate Blog you can import its RSS/XML feed into your listing. Each listing has its own listing detail page and your blog head lines (with small snipets of the articles if configured) will appear on that page. Also, you can provide a content about your real estate web site, your business, areas you serve and I will include that content into your listing detail page too. A lot of these details pages have PR3 now and get direct traffic from search engines, so people go straight to your sites. Listing details pages are pretty much otimized for your listing - title of the page has the same title as your listing, you provide your own relevant content (unlimited amount of words) and you can include links to your internal pages that would support that content.
To see some examples go to the directory and check out the featured areas on the right hand side.
One account allows multiple submissions - easy to manage this way. You can change your submissions at any time, although I keep it to myself to review all the submissions and changes. All submissions reviewed manually. Paid submission doesn't guarantee inclussion (of course I don't take money if rejected). Free submission requires link back to the directory from any page on your site. I don't demand page to be indexed and have PR, but I expect it to be idexed sometime soon.
If you would like to read more about these options here is some info http://www.ibsteam.net/topic4.html
What else... it is farely new directory, I really started adding to it just this year - last month averaged 6,938 visitors per day and 197,233 for the month.
If you have any questions I don't mind answering them here.

There's Abrexa*co*uk in UK that send me a fair amount of leads. It takes a one-off fee of £10, which is not a lot.
There's also EstateAngels*co*uk, which is again UK specific.

- Joining Forums are probably the best way to benefit for your site
as long as you have your signatures on...
- getting good link exchange partners with other realtors are also the best way of getting rank up

No, and I prefer actually one way links (in or out :) ).
Enter "REF" in the description section, if you don't mind, I get sooooo many spam submissions, it helps me find the good ones first :)

I come up with my own little theories and adjust them as needed.
In my directory I want only 20% of the outgoing links to actually be reciprocated from the same site and 80% just be straight outbound.
The good directories do rank for various terms related to what the listings are about. Mainly because they are listing sites based on quality and not who is willing to link back. The amount of characters in the description has something to do with it as well.
I also want only about 40% of my incoming links to be from sources I list. These guidelines are more speculation than anything else, but also strongly based on recent developments and similarities between successful and unsuccessful directories. For those of you who don't know, a couple of weeks ago 100s of directories have been banned from Google, and the DMOZ page categorized as "directories" has been de-indexed from Google.
There is definitely a problem that Google sees with the amount of directories out there which were created for the purpose of Adsense, link exchange and whatever else they are doing to manipulate rankings and make money.
That is not what I want mine to be about and I rather wait to be on top and then stay there :)
Anyways, if you guys feel like it, read our simple seo (http://www.seo-guy.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3669&page=35&pp=10) thread on seo guy's (Morgan) forum, you know, the "other" Real Estate Webmaster Forum (http://www.realestatewebmasters.com) owner ;)
It can give you great insight on how search engines work with people like me, smindsrt, Sarah and others participating and experimenting a little :)

Just thought I'd mention my two. They are in my Signature.
Also I just started a forum in the first directory, it's all new to me but I thought I'd give it a shot and try to put one more spot out there for Real Estate agents to gather some good info.
Thanks,
Gary

One of very important factors for Google to work out the page rank is the number of quality back links to your site. Reciprocal links are one way of building your back links on mutual benefits of the link exchangers. Normally the two sites (yours and the other) are linked to each other. A better way is to get link from another site without linking to that site. This is truely one way back link. It is difficult to convince the other webmasters to link to your site without anything in return. However, if you have two sites, it is then possible to do so. You can link the other webmasters' site from one of your site, then ask they to link to your other site. So both of you get one way back links. Hope this will help.
My web directory is dirBay.net and my other sites are clickget.com.au with two subdomains and a real estate forum and zhongguofangchan.com.cn. If you are happy to link to one of my sites, could could add your link to dirBay.net and I will review and approve your links.
You are welcome to put up your messages on my forum (realestate.clickget.com.au/forum/) with your signitures (your site links) on it. This is also one good way of getting backlinks for you.

Hi AlbertJusto,
I will be happy to exchange the one way back links with you. I would like to suggest you to make a web directory website as google likes the directory site and would be benefitial for both your directory site and the sites who has a link from your directory in a long run. As webmasters can see the potiential benefit of been listed in your directory, they will be more inteterest in linking to your other site to get listed in your directory.
I had a look of your resource-link page. You may want to rename the URL to something link realestateresource.php or resource.php. If you have word 'link' in your URL and the page, search engine will treat your page to be more sort of for the seek of the link exchange rather than a relevent reference/directory type. I guess it would benefit more for the sites linked to you and your site as well, if the search engines treat your reference page as a directory rather than a pure link page.
By the way, all of you are invited to have your discussion on my real estate forum (http://realestate.clickget.com.au/forum/) and get your true one way back links.
Thanks :p

I changed my signature since the last post and now I have 3 directories. The first one in the list is starting to rank well for Real Estate Agents or "your state" real estate agents. The last one was just launched in late Feb '07 and is already ranking on page 1 of Google for Affordable Real Estate.
Real Estate Agents (http://www.us-realestatedirectory.com) - us-realestatedirectory.com
US Real Estate Agents (http://www.us-realestateagents.com) - us-realestateagents.com
Affordable Real Estate Solution (http://www.affordablerealestatesolution.com) - affordablerealestatesolution.com

what do you think about the first 10 directories found on google search for the keyword " real estate directory " ?
They are , for example , justrealestate.org , reals.com and ibsteam.net/wsnlinks/ .
have anyone tried submitting your site to them and howwas the result ?

Cathy,
Also try and search for real estate agents and see what directories come up. Most likely people will be searching for real estate agents when looking for an agent. One of my directories ranks on page 1 and goes from 7-10 depending on the day. I have had my members tell me that they are receiving traffic from my site.
I also have another real estate directory that is ranking on page 1 of Google for Affordable Real Estate.
Real Estate Agents (http://www.us-realestatedirectory.com) - www.us-realestatedirectory.com (http://www.us-realestatedirectory.com)

For most of the activities related to Real Estate, we have a possibility to link back to you, free of charge, on ImoMarket.com:
If you are an agent, register and go to My Account, then My Agencies. Here, you can add your agency and it will be listed in our Agents Directory, after check-up by admin. All world countries are supported. The listing order is done by relevance and depends on several factors (Google Pagerank of your page, number of ads posted on ImoMarket, number of accesses on your ads, etc.)
If you have a construction company or another type of company related to real estate, you can do as above, but register it under "My Companies"
If you have a real estate portal which is very relevant for your country, you can suggest it into our Real Estate Portals page.
If your website provides rss/xml feeds with market news, we will gladly include them in the same "Real Estate Portals" page, section - market news.
Hope this helps,
Horea

.
Here's one that I own.
http://www.megiddo.us/
"Megiddo" is the name of a historical city that, due to it's strategic location, was the site of many hotly contested battles in antiquity.
I thought that due to the desirability of the real estate, which was desirable enough to battle for, the name would be good for a real estate directory.
A link back is not required. If you do give a link back your listing appears at the top of the category and you get a star beside your listing.
