I have also included some good information on link building as well.. I hope this helps to paint a better picture! If you find this information helpful, please take a moment to leave a comment. What is Link Juice
The world of the Internet is essentially made up of websites. These websites refer to all kind of topics, no matter what kind of information you want you will get it from the Internet. Information is power and the Internet is the vessel that you can use to your advantage in getting this power. However, even in the world of the Internet not every website has the same privilege and status as others.
Let us consider an example to better understand the working of the Internet and how different websites are ranked. Imagine the Internet as an army. In the army there are thousands of personnel but not everyone have the same status. There are Captains, Majors, Colonels and Generals. All of these have been promoted to different ranks according to the work they have performed over the time period of their service. The Generals are the oldest and the most experienced of them all and thus enjoy the highest level of privileges. Also due to their vast experience everyone turns towards them for knowledge.
Same is the case with websites found over the Internet. The websites are ranked according to different criteria. There are those that have been recently launched and then there are those that are one of the oldest websites. There are those that are popular and thus enjoy lots of traffic and on the other hand are those that have little or almost no traffic at all. All of these factors combine together to rank a website.
There is another important factor over the Internet concerning the ranking of websites and it is the search engines. There are hundreds of search engines working on the Internet. The most interesting thing is that not all of these have the same criteria to ranking a website. It is only for this reason that different search engines rank the same website differently. If a website is amongst the top 10 websites according to one search engine then it is not necessary that it will have the same ranking on other search engine, it is even more likely that it might not even be amongst the top 100 websites according to the second website. If you take a closer look on the ranking system (algorithm) of a search engine you will realize that the top websites mostly fall under one of the following categories:
• Oldest websites
• Websites with high traffic
• Websites that are well known
• Websites that link to and from other old, high traffic, and well known websites.
When a webmaster launches a website one of his greatest wishes is to get his website amongst the top websites of the Internet. However, this is not an easy task since they usually need to wait for a long time before they get this desire fulfilled. Among other things one of the main tasks of a webmaster is to make his or her website popular over the Internet. He can use different techniques to promote his website like linking it to other more popular websites. Once the word gets out about the website and the advantages associated with it then the traffic will start to increase and the website will begin receiving better rankings across the Internet. Keep in mind that not all links are useful to a website. It is never a good idea to go and link a website to every website you see, it would be better to only create links with those websites that are related to the website and will target only those that are really interested in the website and it’s content.
This is where “Link Juice” comes in the game. In reality, “Link Juice” refers to the quality of links that a website has to it and the role it plays in getting better ranking for the website. There are different tools at work here which include page ranks, link votes, backlinks, inbound links and outbound links. If you manage to get the right “Link Juice” then you will earn the respect of different search engines only for the reason that other good and quality websites link to your websites. This will definitely have a positive effect on your website and its ranking. Here are the key features that you must consider to ensure that the website you are linking to has a positive effect on the ranking of your website:
• Make sure the content of the page or the website you are linking to is also relevant to your website. Let’s say your website is related to skin care and you obtain a link from a website or a webpage whose content is about cars, this will be less effective for your website then having a positive effect on your website. Those who will visit your website from the car page might think your website also has something related to automobiles but they end up seeing skin care related content and will leave right away.
• Make sure that the content of the links are relevant to your site. The content of the link will give a fair idea to the public what your website is about. If your website is related to child problems then make sure that the content of the link indicates this fact as well.
• It is very important that the website linking to your site does not have an overload of other links out. The less amount of link the website has pointing out the better it is for the ranking of your website.
If a webmaster is able to achieve the above stated points then he has achieved quality “Link Juice” i.e. their websites have quality web content, quality backlinks, better page ranks and above all better link votes then other websites. However, the world of the Internet is full of competition, if you have achieved your goals now it does not mean that you should sit back and relax. You should take further steps to ensure that you stay at the top. Use your creativity and continue to generate those quality inbound links and hopefully one day your web site will obtain “Authority Status”

Link building refers to the process of obtaining inbound links from other websites by placing your own link (i.e., your website’s address) with them, with the intention of enhancing the popularity and the search engine page ranking of your own website. Link building can be performed in several ways – submitting links to directories and search engines, exchanging links, joining a webring, submitting articles to reprint directories with a resource box at the bottom that points back at your website, posting messages on bulletin boards with your website’s address included in the signature, etc.
The result is an instant booster for the website to which the links point to, in terms of increased traffic, higher search engine ranking, a higher Google PR (PageRank), along with many more benefits. Link building is one of the best methods that can catapult your website into a league of its own, and if you haven’t attempted to build link popularity so far, you must start now, and here’s why:
1. Search engines measure links pointing to a website as a measure of its popularity, provided the links are coming from websites with legitimate content. In fact, Google has instituted a system, Google PR, where it considers each link pointing to a website as a vote in its favor – the higher the number of legitimate links pointing a website, the higher its Google PR. Of course, other search engines too measure links and if a website has a large number of quality links, it moves up on the search engine ranking ladder.
2. As a website gets linked by other websites, its traffic increases automatically. It also tells a visitor that the website that is carrying your link trusts and appreciates your website’s content.
3. Links are just like word-of-mouth advertising. Well, advertising is advertising, and when your website’s link is placed on other websites, it translates into free advertisement! Even if you have paid a small one-time fee for the link, it will stay there perpetually or for a very long period, justifying your cost in the long term.
4. Then there are the all important financial advantages: When your website gets a whole lot of quality links, you get more traffic accumulation, which leads to more clicks on the advertisements you have placed on your website, which in turn makes more money for you. Also, when your PR goes up, so does your bargaining power – so, if you are selling ad space, you will be easily able to command a higher premium and sell ads on your own terms. Oh yes, links sure pack your bank account with more power!

5. Links automatically increase the trustworthiness of your website. When surfers see your links on many different websites, they begin thinking that there must be something special about your website that is making all these other websites link back to you. Plus, links signify that you have entered into a partnership with the website that’s linking back to you and that sort of increases your reputation.

6. Finally, links pointing to a website are assets. They increase the intrinsic value of your website, and just in case if you find a buyer for your website, you might even get a stupendous offer from him if your website has a whole lot of links.
This is how link building goes on to improve the performance, revenue and the value of a website, which is why it is fast catching up an one of the most important SEO (Search Engine Optimization) techniques. Having said that, it needs to be mentioned that all links that point to your website must come from quality sources. If your website is linked to by bogus websites or by link farms that do not carry any meaningful content, the search engines will blacklist your website. So, be careful on how you go about building your links.
Here’s one nifty tip – There’s this website called inboundlinks.org, where you can submit your website link for free. Well, inboundlinks.org is fast catching up and very soon it will become a two-in-one website – it will accept both articles and links. So, when you are dealing with inboundlinks.org, you are dealing both with an article directory as well as a link-building website. It’s a win-win situation.
So, if you have a website and have not yet attempted link building, what are you waiting for! Go right ahead and build links all over the web and increase your website’s value, Google PR and search engine ranking, and see more traffic and more money! Good luck!
