I think the colors are a little too dark, but that is just me. But having looked at the realestate.ozfreeonline website, assuming it is yours, the blog colors should be more consistent with this site.

Also, except for the Recent Links section I didn't see any real archive section. Since the blog is new this should not be an issue, but as you add more posts you may want to consider adding an archive.

Keep adding those posts!

Honestly, the type of software you are talking about is expensive from my experience. Even if you use Autodesk instead of full blown AutoCad does it really do material takeoffs for you? Timberline, the premier estimating software, needs a user that is sophisticated enough to understand building systems to product halfway decent material takeoffs.

To be helpful I would include specifics such as producers of the software, cost, ease of use, functionality. Even if this is intended for pros they'll want to know these things.

For home improvement blog, it is best from personal experience rather than selling something.
