How is the market in costa rica...are there alot of americans moving in that direction...I have thought of moving there myself at one time of another...

RobM: Yes there are many Americans moving to Costa Rica. Some full-time, but mostly part-time. I live in Playa Grande and I guess about 80% of the property owners live here part-time and rent out their homes when they are not here. (they get big bucks for rentals here)

As far as the market goes, the higher end (600+)seems to be selling. There are alot of lower priced condos selling dirt cheap. I have coffee with a developer who built 6 condos in Tamarindo and has had two on the market for just about a year. The others sold fast. He is at the point that he just wants out of them. I know other folks who are in the same position.

Oddly enough, the building in the condo market is still booming. Building houses has slowed. Who's going to buy the condos is anyones guess. If your thinking of moving here check out arcr.net.

I think that if you are trying to get business from people moving to Costa Rica it may help to put a little more of your own contact info on the site.

If you are thinking of coming to CR, move quickly because Costa Rica hasn't seen anything yet, compared to what is about to take place here. One Century 21 newsletter recently mentioned that a million Americans will be moving to CR in the next five years.

I don't know how they came up with that number, but I do agree that there will be many Americans and Canadians heading to CR in the very near future. Why? WEATHER!

It's hard to beat the weather on the North Pacific coast. It's absolutely gorgeous and that is why foreigners are going to invade this part of CR.

I just put my site up 5 weeks ago, so not much traffic yet. The site is more for info purposes than business purposes. I actually retired here four years ago, but I like to keep my hand in the construction buisness, so I take on the odd job.
