The reason that some online videos are sub standard is that many production companies follow a more traditional, cookie cutter approach. The solution to this type of bland video marketing is to create modern video that can plug your business into your target audience. As for your specific question: the key to internet video marketing is personalization. With a quality video experience, you get to completely control what the user perceives. You are in the unique position of engaging your viewer, and putting them in a place were they can feel comfortable and honestly informed. The video should be an accurate introduction of yourself and company and can substitute for lengthy text that is often overwhelming. Overall you intend your audience to participate in an experience.

Video is definitely the way to go with marketing in today's internet real estate world. I am in the process of putting together several videos that will enhance both my user experience as well as drive more interest. We'll see how it goes, though...I'm still a little skeptical.

I totally agree. I dont necessarily agree with the quality issue. I think most "clients" as I will call them, dont care too much about the quality but the fact that their experience is enhanced with the "being there" feeling that the video gives you. The only thing I would caution on is length of video...if it gets too boring, you basically lost the persons attention.

just my 2 cents
