I believe that they have their own form of Sandbox for new sites. Our new sites bounce in and out of the top 15, while our existing sites are rock solid in their top positions.
We have been able to verify this, albeit on a very limited basis. In one case, we have a new site and older site competing for the same keyword.
OK - I vented. I feel much better now.

Vent away!
This might be something no one else has noticed yet, and there very well might be something to this.
IMO, a sandbox is a very good thing. Sure it sucks when I'm building a new site, but it does keep the brand new site scam artists numbers down a little. How bad would it be if one could put up a new site, place in top five on all SE's nad rip off everyone's money and then close up shop?

I have mixed feelings about the Sandbox Effect.
If you build a brick and mortar business, would it be fair if your town forced you to board up your windows and prevented you from using any signage?
Until the SE's get better at immediately filtering out spam, I guess this is what we have to live with.

I have noticed this also with one of my sites, but it seems to be stablizing now.

HHI, good thing you have these forums because you do an awful lot of venting, lol. :D
Maybe a little off the topic but is Yahoo still notorious for taking forever to index new sites?

It keeps me from going postal :) Besides, I think that sharing opinions is a great way to broaden one's thinking.

They are still very slow. My thought is that it may be some sort of Sandbox, or they are trying to "encourage" people to use their PPC and Site Match (rip-off PPC) services.
