I had just built a website with a la mode and haven't really had any ideas on what to put on there. It looks dead and boring right now. Do you have any suggestions? What should I add or remove? How can I make it look more exciting? They aren't allowing me to put a URL of my site on here yet but you can click on my name and go to my homepage. Thanks (in advance)

It's not easy to get it exciting. A la mode is well known in the real estate industry for the website, so what happens is billions of agent have the very same template. And Google hates duplicate!! So, a la mode sites are not the best option anymore...

Ok, well, I dont know what to do, I am getting about 30 hits a day, and I feel like I am wasting them on that website. Would I be better off just creating my own website?

Yes, I'll do that.
Where are the 30 uniques coming from? Do you know?
Ops..EDIT: 30 hits...not uniques...
When people go on the internet to shop for real estate they are looking for real estate. When they find your site you are selling yourself, not real estate.
Give them what they want. REAL ESTATE Talk about real estate, talk about your area, talk about real estate in your area.
Get an IDX feed. If they can't find the MLS search button they are going to go somewhere else.

You should add an IDX feed there. Right now, you have there informations which are interesting, but really, you find those on every site you look for real estate. The way i see it, people usually usually look for an idx search on realtor's site. If there are two sites which give them the same information, they'll probabily use the one which gives them the most information as quick as possible.

I don't know if it was the idx or other things but we are now getting many more hits(and leads) than before. I don't know what it was though, we do change abut 20% of the site everyday though.

That's likely one of the reasons you are starting to see increased traffic, because you change your content so often. This leads to your page getting crawled by the Google spiders and it could lead to an improvement in the rankings. Have you seen your site improve in rankings or page rank, and how much marketing are you putting into it?

Could I suggest writing some editorial articles? Useful, original pieces are interesting to read. Stuff relating to whats going on in the market is really popular right now and people love to hear about current events analysis. Think of a blog, but with a bit more research behind it.
Just a thought...
