Hi,
I live in Greensboro NC and have been involved in restoration of old houses for years, mainly plaster, but also many other aspects.
I just want to let everyone know, not just anyone with a bucket of sheetrock mud and a mud knife knows what they are doing when it comes to restoring your old home's plaster.
Without proper analyis of the plaster system and what is causing the particular failure, one cannot apply the proper solution.
When I give an estimate, I also educate the customer. I want them to know what the problem they are seeing was caused by and what must be done to address it properly and permanently.
I have seen too many bad patch jobs by fly-by-nighters.
Also, beware of drywallers who think they can do plaster.........two totally different animals.
