I am fairly new to the real estate market. I don't have a lot of capital to market so I wanted to use what I had as efficiently as possible. I sunk some money into some other marketing tools that didn't seem to be the best use of capital. So I decided to buy a list and send out some newsletters. I did some research and found a company that seemed to be the best bargain. They do a 4 page color newsletter with one page of customization. The one I use is realtorsquared.com. The price is super affordable. I started at 250 newsletters and pay $295 mailed.
I've been doing it for a little while now, but one of the coolest things is how you can use newsletters as a referral tool. We've all been in that awkward situation and possibly even used the words "So, do you know of anyone that could use my services?" I hate that question, and have almost never had success that way. You can use a newsletter as a less awkward way of getting referrals. Instead of asking your clients for something, you are offering to send one of their friends a free gift. Instead you can ask "Do you know of anyone that would want to get a newsletter showing listings and real estate tips?" People are must more willing to open their black book when they're giving a gift. This has been the single biggest method of getting referrals for me.
