I'm seeing a backlink update begin to roll across the datacenters.
Who knows if we'll see a PR update - we just had one not too long ago.

Not sure if you have seen anything like this, but I swear that I see small PR updates on some pages of sites at random times. One day I may have a PR6 on a blog and then two weeks later it is PR5. Of course, I tend to notice those more. :) It is not a traditional update like we used to see, but over the past few months, I swear I see a page go up a tick here, go down a tick there.

I thought I saw that on a few directory's I'm in. When I submitted I could swear the page I was on was 4, now it's 5???
Shawn,
No "FoolBar" updates here, yet. The three of my sites that I checked are still at the exact same numbers.

The Google toolbar has always been buggy. If you want to see the PR of a site, go to the Google Directory (http://www.google.com/dirhp).
Please note that the Google Toolbar reports in increments from 0-10. The PR in the Google Directory reports PR on a scale of 0-8.
Why? Ask Google.

Yeah, I know the directory updates PR more frequently, but I am talking about individual page toolbar PR. Anyway, just wondering if anyone else sees this or if I am just looking at the montior too long. :)

The toolbar is not always accurate. Why? I don't know. It has always been that way.

HHI,
Just noticed an increase in BLs on G today. From 43 to 60. Also have been seeing some drastic swings in my rankings. Been waiting to get out of the ol' sandbox and over the weekend went from the low 200's up to mid 60's for a couple of days, now back to the 190's.

All updates fluctuate wildly while processing until they are done. Most likely you will see yourself out of the sandbox when this is settled down since you've seen yourself out in one instance. What you see when you see these wild fluctuations are different DC's (data centers) of Google's reporting at different times. They use different DC's to keep things fast. If everyone hit one DC when searching Google, Google would be slow as heck!
Right now I am not personally seeing any fluctuation in IBL's on either of my four sites according to my "FoolBar".
Henry,
What tool do you use to get detailed SE rankings? I've got some good ones that let me know if I'm in a top position, but do you use one that lets you know when you're in the 200's?
And, please, stop banging your head. ;)
Thanks,
Kathleen

You can find a nice selection of simple Google tools at www.mcdar.net
Using the menu on the left, select Google data center quick check. You can check your SERP's for a specific phrase as well as check your backlinks and PR across all data centers.

Kathleen,
I also use the McDar Keyword Analysis Tool at mcdar.net It compares your site to the top ten in G for a particular KW phrase. It shows your G BLs as well as allinanchor position and Yahoo BLs compared to the top ten sites for those KWs.
Henry
PS: LOL, I'll stop banging my head when I finally bust my way out of the sandbox ;)

Just out of curiosity, which domain are you referring to?
