Turn Short Seller Into Renter?

If I buy a home from someone needing a short sale, can they turn around and become my tennant if they want to stay in the home? If so is this a common investing method?

They are about to lose their home to foreclosure and you want them for a tenant. Why would you want someone who can not manage their funds as a tenant? Don't you think they will hold a grudge?

well if they are going to be good renters, and have the funds to pay the rent..then it may not be a bad idea. They are going to need a place to go.
