The problem with hosting a blog is that you must have an internet server. If anyone is interested in having their own blog/website, just let me know.

If you have your own website, chances are you can host your own blog. We currently use WordPress for our Panama City real estate blog.

I always think its wise to use a blog that is hosted on your website because it drives more traffic to your website. It's an integral part of SEO for real estate webmasters.

For instance, one time we did have a Blogger blog, but once we put the blog on our website, leads started flowing.

I think that is the key if you are using a blog for your business. You have to incorporate it or else it is becomes extra work. I would suggest a wordpress platform just because it is the easiest to use.

No need to run your own server to run a blog.... You can get it with either shared hosting or VPS...........

Blogs can be hosted by almost any internet server company. The problem with that is if they decide to pull your blog, too bad! There is advantage in blogging on your own website. It can't be pulled. My hosting company offers many, many services, including WordPress and an extra is that they also teach it in classes.

A website is a key part of business now! There is no excuse for not having a site, a host, and email account; all branding your company name. So having a blog on your server should be no big deal! If you have to use free blog services it seems to me you have other problems.

I'm not sure, but I think they are not yet available from the company that hosts this forum... it sounds like they are "coming soon" and can register at this page from the link at the top bar if you are interested:

I use Typepad for most of my blogs, and have loved it. The downfall from what I can see, is that I don't think it is as SEO friendly as Wordpress.

Just a short note to advise you that I actually do the text (posts) for my blogs in Note Tab Light and then copy and paste into Wordpress. I am not familiar with typepad but it sounds like it relates to Note Tab.

I agree on this, we are doing this also, the key of the game is relevancy you must take note of that.

There is a plugin called firestats which can be installed on your Wordpress site. This nice plugin gives you all the statistics you could want about visits to your blog site by search engines and others.

Another point I would like to make is, if you have a blog site and have entered posts on other blogging sites, no reason why you can't link to other blog sites in your blogroll.
