after a buyer makes an offer do they normally get word on if the bid was accepted/counter offered, etc.?
Thank you!

The dateline should be in the contract. If there is no dateline, it can be forever.
Let's say I'm a seller and I receive an offer with no acceptance guideline, I can come back to the buyer in 5 or 10 years and say: "OK, I accept your offer, pay now". AS you see, it's tricky. That's why there should be a dateline in the contract....

The response time has a lot to do with the agents and seller. Lets say you gave a 5 day response time. I've had agents and seller take the whole five days, then I've had agents and selers respond back in a few hours. I try and get the entire deal worked out over the phone with the other agent and then put the changes in writing. If you feel your agent is the reason it's taking so long start bugging your agent. Unfortunately the is no normal time frame.
