Ok, as you can tell from my user name, I am very new to real estate. My question is about building a home, after you have purchased the land for it. I understand the the price of land will vary according to the location. However, will the actual cost of the building vary according to the location? I mean, would it really matter to the builder where you put it, if its the same designs and such?

Depends on the differences between the lots. The cost could differ because no two lots are exactly the same. There will be different prep work done for different lots; grading, utilities, lot boundry requirements. If one lot is farther away from where the contractors live than another lot, there might be a higher cost due to travel and delivery of materials might cost more.

I agree with clemy -- there are no two identical lots and price is varying sometimes dramatically. However, if you buying in some future development, community where they are building typically the same structures and price tag on them practically the same. Individual homes could be significantly different in price from you and your neighbor.
