What training do you need to be a real estate agent? What training do you need to become one, and how would you go about becoming one?
If you're a real estate agent/broker, how is the income?

Would it be a good idea to be a real estate agent while in college?

Thanks in advance!

Each state has different education requirements for real estate agents. Contact your state agency, usually called a department of real estate or a real estate commission, to find out what the education requirements are and where you can take the classes. Real estate is not an easy profession. The national average income for real estate agents is less than $20,000. It looks easy from the outside, but the reality is that it is very hard work. It's usually not something you can do part time, although I have met many agents who are working as well as going to college.

As the poster above said many are very low income, there is definitely a minority that are really getting good money. The majority fail within a short timeframe or never really amount to much. Only the smartest, hardest working make the big bucks. If you are smart, friendly, and work hard you can earn a really nice check once you're established in your area but don't count on easy money. Money doesn't throw itself at you as soon as you pass the exam.

In AZ you need to take 90 hours of classes, pass a school test, and pass the state test.

What kind of money do you make? You can lose money, or you can make money. No guarantees in this business. You are the business.
