Hi all,

I guess this fits here.

I've been interested in starting a podcast for a while now. I think the format is gonna be a lot of fun. I'd like to do a podcast focusing on real estate and investing. I'd like to be able to interview guests from around the country (investors, house flippers, etc) without having to fly them in to my studio to record the show.

Logistically, I'm curious if there is software available to help me bridge the distance barrier between me and any guests that I meet online. I can't think of how to record an interview unless my guest is in the studio with me, which might not be possible very often. Does anyone know of any software that might take care of this issue? Also, it would be great if there were programs available to help me catalog, manage and publish (to the internet) my shows once they are recorded.

Does anyone have any advice?

I have used Asterisk Open Source PBX to record telephone conversations and save them as a WAV file. You could then use Audacity or other audio editing tool to splice the wav file. PM me if you would like to get together to set this up.

Skype has free or low cost addons to record conversations. Just do a phone interview.

Yeah, if Skype has this functionality ... it would be much easier than my previous suggestion.

Here's what I use (http://skypejournal.com/blog/archives/2005/03/hotrecorder_rec.php).

I am evaluating this online software for my market center. It is pretty cool...has all the bells and whistles and you can do podcasting with like 2 clicks.

PM me if you want more info

thanks
