here is an article that makes a lot of sense to me
http://www.webpronews.com/insiderreports/searchinsider/wpn-49-20050407GooglesNewLinkFilter.html#google
I don't expect you guys to have time to read it so here is a short summary:

If you get links, they will not be validated until later, a month or 2 maybe. It is like a sandbox for links. I have seen indicators. And it makes sense to me.
You keep getting good links and see no results, all of a sudden a month later you move up.

If this is true, I would encourage not getting discouraged, ever!
Keep on going doing what is right and don't stop. Stay on track, cover your bases and don't take chances. Just my late night thoughts :)

Good point Mike...I think you are right I have noticed the same! I guess it goes with the old saying that good things are worth waiting for! ;)

I guess it's the opposite of the old saying "I'm here for a good time not a long time"

If your business is any good then it will survive the wait for the links to work. If you're a fly-by-nighter then you will be justifiably thumped.

Too funny!

I agree that these "sandbox" filters are a good thing. Anyone, from real estate to a softball team site should expect to be on the web a long, long time. If so, then no problem waiting for awhile to be noticed in the SE's. If not, and you are just setting up a scam site, then it makes perfect sense (for once) that you shall not be noticed in the SE's right away.

Matt,

I'll agree with you fully, after I'm out of the #%(&^& sandbox :D

LMAO

You, in the SB? No way. What did you do? Or is it a brand new site?

The best way to never get into the sandbox is to have no incoming links to your site until you have a DMOZ or Yahoo! directory listing. If your site gets discovered thru any of those, you're golden

I haven't heard that before.

I got my DMOZ right away. But, didn't get my Yahoo until aboput four months ago.
