Since this is our first time, we will end this month with the overall amount of members referred.
Once you won, your amount of referrals will be recorded and you have to start over from 0 for the next month :)
You will be listed on the bottom of ever page of this forum. A link to your site and your name and maybe a one liner about your business with your phone number.

Hey 'Mack,

You actually recruited me via email, but when I signed up I did not put in your "handle" correctly. I actually put in Vegas Mack, with the space in the middle and it did not like it, so I deleted it all together.

As for the prize. Are we all quite sure this really is worth anything?

1st, we all know site wides are not valued as highly as a few well placed links.
2nd, aren't they temporary? And if I have that right, then isn't there a chance of retribution from the SE's when the links dissappear? Possibly not helping us at all when the links are placed, but maybe even hurting our positions in the SE's once the links vanish.

Do I have it all wrong here? Someone, please show me the value of temporary, site wides. Thank you.

The links if I understand Mike correctly would be for a period of 1 year. Then the winner next April say, would replace this year’s winner.

I think that is what Mike had in mind. 12 winners, one for each month. If that is the case that would give the winner links for one year, and one year to replace the back links.

I do agree with several well placed links vs site wides. Although I am not sure how the SEs would handle site wides from a forum, I would hate to lose a few thousand back links all at one time in a year.

Maybe Mike could clarify further.

Maybe ten, well placed links... say one on the HP, one on the intro page http://www.national-real-estate-directory.com/ and so on. This also would make it easier to deal with when they are gone.

Mike, did you say that the tally of people one has had join, will remain until that person wins once, then it resets? If this is correct... then I don't have to hold back my new members until I have enough to win that month and then have them all register at once. Right?

It will enable a larger amount of active referrers to be featured on the same pages. It will also give us a bigger variety of states featured. No referral will be done in vain, your turns will come :)
