MSN will make a huge impact on local real estate businesses.
First of all they do not have the Google filter.
Fairly new sites can rank fast and well.
MSN is also advertising the "near you" solution.
Like when you type in "Real Estate" and click on "near you", you will immediately see results for real estate sites run in your area.
MSN is more into featuring local businesses than Google.

MSN here in Las Vegas has been showing the beta results for the last two weeks now. We are seeing a lot of real estate traffic from MSN presently.

MSN is providing decent traffic. :)
Let's face it the Google sandbox filter is starting to hurt Google. I was doing a search for some technology information an all I got was articles that were two years old. Now we all know that technology changes way to fast to be displaying two year old articles on the first couple of pages.
So then...... I went to MSN to look up and found good information.

Filters that give additional weight to age of domain, and link popularity should not dictate SERPS.
An analogy: My Father, a really great man, is much older than I, and knows many more people that I do. However, he does not have the technical abilities I possess, can’t work as many hours as I do, can’t shoot as good or run as fast as I can. But if we were both websites, he would out rank me in Google.
It was relevant search results that catapulted the fledgling Google past MSN and Yahoo! to begin with.
Remember back when all the paid inclusions and the PPC links were at the top of the SERPS for Yahoo and MSN? The lack of relevancy in the search drove consumers to Google and created a multi-million dollar corporation in just a few years.
While Google has obviously forgotten how they achieved such success, MSN and Yahoo! paid attention, and learned from their mistakes.
When I go to a restaurant, I want to be served what I ordered, not what they want me to eat!!! Are you listening Google? Consumers and SERPS are no different.
Consumers will tire of Google and start using a search engine that will give them good relevant search results. Right now, that is MSN and Yahoo! IMHO.
So I would suggest to all of our REALTORS® out there concentrate on preparing thier sites for MSN and Yahoo! and better traffic in the long haul.
Just my 2¢ worth.

Mack, I hope that you are right...well at least partially. MSN just doesn't have the traffic that G does right now. But, we all know that can change quickly. I would love to see the search volume (people searching for things on the web) equally distributed among the "top players" whomever they are. I think that would make life a little easier and less stressful for people.

MSN traffic on our sites have picked up dramatically in the last couple of weeks with no real movement in our rankings.
This leads me to believe, that more consumers are making the switch to MSN.
FYI – Our traffic rates are still the highest from Google but the lowest for our lead capture and conversion.
Question: Has “G” maintained its popularity with we professionals (checking each other out LOL), while the consumers are already starting to migrate? ….hummmmm ;)
