Based on OFHEO's (Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight) scientifically derived single-family housing price index El Paso's housing market registered in 2006 the largest price increase (16.5%) in the State of Texas and the sixth largest in the whole nation! Beaumont-Port Arthur and Austin-Round Rock, were in the second and third place in the State of Texas with increases 9.9% and 9.1%, respectively.

Not Bad, seems to me like Dallas is just flat.

Most of the places that normally have great increases have slowed down or stopped. Some smaller citites/areas are seeing nice increases in value.

Your feeling is right on. According to the OFHEO index The Dallas-Plano-Irving, TX (MSAD) housing market registered a 4.1% increase during the whole 2006 but in the fourth quarter prices did remain flat just rising a notch (0.6%).
