I just finished my class exam in NC and I have recieved my criminal records. I am 23 years old and in my "younger days" I accumulated some charges. I dont know if these charges will stop me from getting my license.
Charges are all misdemeanors and some were dismissed but are on my report. I have stalking, communicating threats, simple assault, 2 possession charges of marijuana, paraphenelia charge, driving with license revoked, under age alcohol consumption. Those are the bad ones.
All of these were before I turned 18 except for the the paraphenalia charge which I was 21 and it was dismissed but is on my report.

Can anyone tell me if these will influence the Commission to not hand me my license? I havent mailed these in yet with my application for the state exam. I guess I can just tell them it was in my "young and dumb" days. Any help is greatly appreciated. THANKS.

You sound like a great guy lol.

But seriously...I have seen other people with records get licensed. 'Young, Dumb, Sorry & now wiser' would be good.
I think they are probably more worried about people who have been in trouble for theft & fraud type issues.

Guess you won't know unless you send it in - you've come this far don't give up now.

Good Luck

Thanks for the input. I am a good guy. Changed a lot since then......well not everything lol. You are right though. Just send it in and see. I figure there are probably coke heads and people with felonies that have gotten their license. So hopefully I'll be alright. Thanks.

Yeah, I know some people who've gotten their license problems on their records. You're young and were younger then, it certainly doesn't help but hey we were all young sometime. I have a couple alcohol related tickets on my report. I got them in college, who doesn't? :) I'd get some people to write a letter on your behalf as a judge of your character.
