Should I purchase leads from Businessfinance.com? They send me leads to review but I don't know if I should purchase them.

Never buy leads, you get caught in contracts and things

Not sure about businessfinance but I would say unless you have 10s of thousands to through at it and stick to it for a while, and have an EXCELLENT phone team take a different path...

I honestly can't say I've seen any decent mortgage leads for sale for at least a couple years...it's done.

REFERRALS REFERRALS REFERRALS

if you're still not convinced I used to use a company called DMA or DMA leads back in the day or datawarehouse I think....

In my experience, the only people that make money from lead generators are the lead generators themselves.

Buying leads is a waste of money and you'll waste hours of precious time chasing really bad leads.

I learned the hard way.

Generating your own leads is the best way to go.

I agree, I don't think they would be much good purchasing a lead and what is to say that a dozen other companies have got the same lead through the same company that you would have bought it from.

I don't think it is a very trustworthy way of making a sale, who would sell a hot lead that could be worth a good few thousand dollars / euros for a lower price ?

I was with you guys, untill I found my lead generation company. They will build out a website for your market, give you a top producer type account, pay for your ppc and seo. and then when you close the sale, you kick up a referral fee. If you dont make money, they don't either. Not a bad gig.

I buy leads from two different sites and do very well. Some leads are not that great but I only need one good lead to make several thousand dollars. PM me if you want to know the source.

Before I became an agent I was generating leads from my website using SEO and Google adwords. I tried to sell them but no one wanted them. I tried to give them away (asked for a % of rev) still no one wanted them. So I got my license... I just closed a $10M home in So Cal (with the help of a Sr RE broker). It was one of the leads no one wanted.

Here's what I know - leads are not deals - most don't bring business. You have to take the time to find the leads that turn into deals.

If you can't generate your own leads then learn how by hiring a consulting firm. This is money better spent...

Absolutely. There is no magic formula for generating leads and turning them into clients. It takes hard work, basic sales skills, an excellent follow program, and common sense.

If it were easy everybody would be doing it. Wait a minute, isn't everybody already doing it? Yeah, but not very well.

All, there is nothing 'magic' about leads, this is true. However, there is a time savings to purchasing leads. There is a virtual gold mine in a good leads sales man/marketing company.

If you are inexperienced in leads, you should work with a company, such as ours, to learn how to best put them to work. We can explain the industry, we can provide quality leads, and work with you to refine your target. We can explain cold calling and direct mail, we know what works and what doesn’t.

All companies have their place, ours is in leads that work and customer service.

Don't buy leads unless you have a lot of money to throw away.

The best thing is to generate targeted leads yourself through your own website or through offline advertising.

Get people to qualify themselves through great copy.

Haha, of course you're going to say that.. you sell leads. You also like to use run-on sentences which I hate.

Good luck with your biz.

Lead generation sites aren't all bad... some of them are trash and end up throwing worthless leads at you all day long, but some of the others are a step above the rest. I've experienced some that actually filter out the bad leads for you and only call you with a hot lead.

I would be very interested in hearing specifically which sites you considered good, and the ones you considered bad.

I'm not familiar; furthermore, don't buy a "list" of anything.
When you buy a list it's worth as much as the POOP you took this morning. Never trust anybody who doesn't make sense.

We haven't had any good experiences in buying leads. A lot of the lie and say they are exclusive and by the time you follow up the potential client is mad at receiving so many calls.

I agree with most of the posters that it's better to do your own marketing.

Running small ads in the paper and driving them to IVR or websites has worked very well of us.

IMHO, buying leads for a saturated market like real estate is pretty much a bad idea right now.

If you don't fully embrace the idea that you should and want to be responsible for generating all of your leads, you will never truly breakthrough in this industry. The most successful agents consider themselves first and foremost a lead generator and secondly a real estate agent. You want to control your flow of leads, because ultimately, that will give you the leverage that you need to take your business and quality of life to the next level. It al starts with a commitment to building a database that you consistently touch with value while reminding them that you are their real estate expert and to refer business to you. Take the money that you would have spent on leads, and invest it into your database and touch programs. Good luck!
