I was wanting to know if any realtors have ever had any issues about not feeling safe while they were showing a house. You never know who you are showing a house to with being to able to set appointment over the internet or just picking up the phone and calling. We are no longer in a safe environment.

Great forum.
Regarding the question "not feeling safe" in the previous post - for me, yes absolutely.
If I get a bad vibe, I let friends/family know where I'm going to be. And I have them call me or I call them at pre-determined times. And if I'm able, I like to take a "friend(s)/assistant(s)" with me.

That is great to hear that you are taking precautions. You are still leaving doors open though. You should never turn your back to a person that you are showing a house to. Guide them to through the house and do not follow the potential buyer into confined places like the bathroom and walk-in closets. In the seminars, that I have done in my area with real estate agencies, the response that I have received is that 80% of realtors were scared or uncomfortable showing a house by themselves 30% of them were men. They also felt uncomfortable when showing the basement of the cards. Have your cell phone open and the number ready so you just have to hit the button and it will call out also carrying some sort of other deterrant. Most people are afraid of being sprayed with pepper spray.
I didn't know how well this would go and I didn't want to get into trouble for spamming. During one of my seminars, a realtor had mentioned forums to me. If you have any questions, please see my profile and check out my website.

I felt uncomfortable couple times but you never really know, who are you showing to. In general, I am sure many women Realtors should be very cautious to go alone. My broker that in business for 27 years said to me that when she was selling a lot of HUD homes there were different uncomfortable feelings. Especially, in one house that she went there was outline of a body and you already don't feel very nice about it.

You need to listen to your gut, when you get that uncomfortable feeling. This world isn't what it use to be.
