I recently attended a seminar held by Nouveau Riche University and it looks too good to be true. Please advise. Thanks.

I am a student at Nouveau Riche. My husband Jeff and I started in May 2006, with NO experience and attended the college in July 2006-- as his partner I went to the college for free! By September 14th we had helped 2 families out of forclosure, get into a better situation, we helped them with moving expenses and put money in their pockets. It costed us no money and we did not use our credit. In 2 months... we made $12,014 on the first property and $17,610 on the 2nd property + we helped 2 families who would have otherwise been left with ruined credit and no money. As of December 06, we have 2 more properties that are cashflowing ($688/month passive income + $60,000 in equity)! Now we are investing full time together and we LOVE NOUVEAU RICHE UNIVERSITY. We just completed another week and we are pumped to enhance our investing strategy in the new year! We are VERY grateful that we found such a great company that quickly proved to us that it was not "too good to be true"! We tried the "other programs" and NRU has EVERYTHING we need to be seasoned investors in no time!...
They have an exclusive mortgage company to be sure we don't lose money at closing (they saved us $11k), an exclusive credit repair company to help people in forclosure or tenants, exclusive accounting firm, entity structuring company, retirement planning, real estate attorneys, property locators & managers, there is more...but the list of benefits keeps on growing, I cannot keep up! Hope this helps in your research!

Hello to everyone,

I'm also a member of NRU and there just isn't enough good things to say about this company. For those in the New York Area, there are meeting going on right now. Whoever is interested can contact me.

Thanks,

Hello everyone. I actually signed up for the NRU program, received my loan thru Chase, but decided not to go thru the class. I did find out that it is NOT an actual University nor is it accredited as one. That alone caused me to further research, as it is totally misleading. My buddy that tried to get me in decided to fess up and told me about how the only money he has been able to make is by convincing people to take the course and cough up 19,500. He apologized and felt horrible about trying to get me in but I understood why he acted like such a "Soldier" for NRU. He explained how most people that went thru it are currently stuck with bad deal, an average of 3 a piece, and that the only way to pay the mortgages and hang in there is by recruiting people. He is a good man but was sold bad properties and suckered in to bad deals. With a third child on the way, mortgages, credit cards he racked up for his NRU investments, he just had no other way to pay the bills. As he said it "how can I tell others the truth when my only options are sink or swim.”? Anyway, he is still wrong for misleading others.

Fortunately, I met a guy named Steve in Home Depot, he is an experienced rehabber and after telling him my story he recommended a 9 day course that has no advertisement, no website (yet they say), and no hype. I just tool the rehab (reo investing) course in Chicago last week. It's called the National Housing Rehab Program. It was the best thing I could have done. They taught the 7 people that attended everything in detail. They are new but really good. Call me naive but they seemed so down to earth, honest, and said things as they are. Some guys finished the course thanking them for opening their eyes and realizing the business was not for them. They share so many horror stories about rehabbing that really showed you real life experiences and all of the cons of the business, not just the Pro's. We were walked thru properties in 8 different stages, from searching for deal, inspecting, making offers (negotiating), closing to actually seeing and assisting in the demolition of a property. We saw how to fix it, where to buy materials, permits, security, listing, getting "Section 8" tenants (in some neighborhood) etc etc etc it was a ton of stuff. I would never be able to describe everything. It was just well worth it a definitely something I am doing. My first REO offer has been accepted at 52,000 for a 2 unit brick building in Chicago, all recent closings, 4 months or less, for similar homes are 260k. Of course I have to fix it but I am already approved for the loan. The contractor is charging 70k for a full gut rehab all included and the lender will be reviewing and inspecting the property at every payout. I love it.

Cost$$$$, When I first called them, they interviewed me for about 20 minutes. Questions about what I expect? What are my goals? And immediately cut my goal for the year from 500,000 to 150k based on my answers they said. They asked I take a cashiers check for $5,000.00 and when I started questioning their integrity and their credibility they really surprised me with their take on it. They said "Bring the check, we will pin it in the wall, once the class is over, if you think it was not worth it, take it back” I was shocked. I took the course, was amazed at how much I learned and enjoyed it, thought of taking the check back but I didn't. It was worth more than that. The only thing I did not like is that they won't pay referral fees.

That's my 2 cents guys. Look around and if NRU does not offer a full money guarantee, I would not take it.

Wow Eddie, NHRP must be the real deal huh?!?! Can you give me some more information on how to reach them. I would like to go ahead and check them out. I mean I heard good things about NRU, but I heard most of their students buy properties in another state without even seeing the properties. Not a wise investment!! Please give me more information on NHRP. I am interested in purchasing a rehab home for $ 250,000 with about $ 70,000 in equity

Eddie,

Congratulations on making the decision to pursue RE Investing even if it's not with us (NR). I'm sure the course you took was great! There are a lot of good people out there that want to share their knowledge with others. Having said that I need to defend some of the things you said about Nouveau Riche, which I believe with all my heart is one of the best RE investing education companies out there. There is no misleading here.

You see there are over 30 different courses (one of them is rehabbing). This way if rehabbing isn't for you, maybe wholeselling is, or seller financing notes or land development etc. You also get the basics, like legal and tax strategies, building a team around you, understanding mortgages and many more. And just like the person who taught you knew exactly what they were talking about because they actually do it for a living so do ALL the instructors at NR! And they are all down to earth and really want us to succeed. They even give us their email and/or cell#!

Another thing about the cost. You invested $5K on a single strategy, with NR you get to split the cost with a partner and you both get to go to all the classes. That alone, can bring your cost down to $8K. And you get to repeat the courses and you get the classes on video and audio, so you can really absorb everything!

Also, I don't know when you went to the meeting but it is not called NRU anymore, just NR. I do see though how you might think this is misleading but we never said that NR is accredited. Instead it does offer continuous education credit.

Please understand me Eddie, I am not trying to put down your courses, like I said in the beginning, I'm sure it was great and that you will succeed using the knowledge you got from them. But I can't see how a course based on a single strategy is a better solution that a full fledged RE education. And I really don't like when people throw mud on something they really don't know anything about!

Now about your friend, it seems to me that he hasn't touched the education and concentrated only on the marketing. BIG mistake. "Pay the mortgage and hang in there"???? Why would he buy properties that don't cash flow? "was sold bad properties and suckered in to bad deals" This is not what NR is about. How can someone make him buy these "deals". Didn't he do his due diligence? Didn't he verify the numbers? Didn't he have 2-3 exit strategies in place before he went in?

Eddie, either your story is a lie, which I really don't want to believe, OR your friend went into these deals blindfolded, uneducated, wishing that it will work out, something gamblers do, not NR students.

I believe your friend should stop promoting NR since he doesn't believe in it, hit the education hard so he can find a way out of the mess he got himself in and when he starts believing in NR again and has deals to prove it then he can go back to marketing it.

Good luck and great success to you Eddie,
just get your facts right next time.

Regards,
George

You haven't heard about The National Housing and Rehabs Programs ?
It is a place where you can learn how and where to buy properties for pennies on the dollars, Foreclosures, REO's, Auctions, Short Sales, you can learn how to buy and flip, buy and keep or buy rehab and sell. Where you can own a house with little money, where you can earn extra income, where you can become a master rehabber or perhaps the next millionaire investor and the best part is that you will beautify communities in the Chicagoland area one house at a time !!

Get all the info and all the facts !!!!!
