I've purchased tax lien certificates and really like that approach to high return investing. Every state and every county is different so you need to check how each handles them. Some do not offer tax lien's but rather, tax deeds sold at auction.
In general, it is an awesome investing strategy, and yes, you can sometimes pick up homes for just the outstanding taxes due.

Would you mind emailing or PMing me any details you can offer on purchasing Tax Liens? This post really peaked my interest. Thanks a lot in advance for anything you can offer!

Hello there! Just like some of the other members that have posted in this thread, I am also interested in the topic of tax liens... Actually, I had a prospect ask me a question about it. I told I would find out all I can about it....
To be honest, I am a relatively new agent but I have high aspirations! Right now I can answer most questions that have to do with real estate transactions in my local market. I have experience with people who want to buy, sell or rent for personal or commercial use. However, I do not have experience with those who want property for investment purposes.
How can I find out about tax liens? Also, I would like to know how I can find out information on other topics that interest investors. Specifically, I want to know about the process of these special types of real estate transactions, the legalities involved & all neccessary relevant information!
I would like to find out information that specifically relates to laws relevant to any of my jurisdictions. I am in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Thank you in advance to all those who can provide me with help & information!

I guess you ask about this info commercial about this guy saying he bought that house free and clear for $645.37
Well, yes, like other info commercial, it's possible in theory.
Now, what are the odds that somebody owning a $200,000 property, who couldn't pay his propety tax of , let's say, $950, will not pay that amount to save his property?
Don't forget they have 2 to 7 years to repay the tax. If repaid, you can't get the property.
In theory, it's true. Practically, it never happens...

i was wondering if anybody has good experience with this? I also saw that little program where they were explaining how property was bought for just a couple hundred dollars, and then either resold, or put out for rent. Can somebody explain this to me clearly, and direct me to exactly what I should do first? My email is **Check Profile** or if any of you have AIM, you can IM me at **Check Profile**. Thanks
