Do search engines skip information in tables? For examples links in tables

Search Engines in general should have no problem picking up content which his included inside the cells of tables. Having said this some SEO people would comment that if the coding used to form your tables is excessive then the search engine will place less value on keywords placed within this mess of coding. HTML (and other) editing programs are very handy for creating web pages quickly, but using some of these will mean lots of extra coding for the search engines to have to scan through in order to find your keywords.

The search engines are now even able to read the flash content, so I don't hink this is an issue.

There may be two much of html tags in your code if you use too many tables. This may not be ideal for geting a good page ranking

Search engines have no problem with tables. None. The reason I say that is because I built realestateabc.com using tables and it always ranked very well -- and still does (even though I am no longer involved with the web site except as an author).

Having said that, I moved away from nested tables (tables within tables) as much as possible because you DO want to make it as easy as possible for search engine spiders to actually get to the content.

Most experts nowadays suggest that Cascading Style Sheets are a better way to go because it is so much easier for the spiders to actually get to the content without reading tons of html code.

Tables aren't a problem - search engines can read them fine.

They do affect your keyword density though so it is much better to use CSS to format your layout.
