Hello all, I hope you can add some works of wisdom.

I am reletivley new to the business, and have been at it about 4 years and have been relatively successful. My broker and I have worked together on a few transactions as a team, she has been at it for 18 years. She has suggested we partner together, since she is looking to have more free time. The benefits to me would be her deep roots in the community, and a pretty consistent income. The benefit to her is she can take more time off (which she wants) and our skill actually complement each other quite well. As we have kicked this around she has suggested I research how these partnerships are typically formed between a relatively new agent and a seasoned one. Of course any clients we worked on together and acquire would be 50/50, but what of her existing clients, and mine for that matter?

Any suggestion, or can anyone share how they do it?

Your comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Great for the begining of your career, but as you both gain more experience, the further apart you will grow. At least that was how it was with me and my partner. Good Luck!

Wow Scott that sounds like a great opportunity. As for the existing clients issue how about a different split, 60/40 or 70/30? Good luck!
