I have been contacting webmaster and submitting for cross links. I am to busy to go through and track every link myself. Can anyone recommend a good reciprocal link tracker? My site is www.northofaustinhomes.com (http://www.northofaustinhomes.com/) if you have any suggestions or comments please let me know.
Thanks

I know that manually verifying links can be both time consuming and tedious, but here are three great arguments for taking the extra time to visually check your links:

1. I have seen some webmasters create links pages, then later orphan those pages (in other words, the pages are still on the server but they cannot be accessed by humans or SE's navigating from the home page).

2. I have seen some webmasters using the rel=nofollow tag on their link page or even 1 or twp levels above the link page.

3. Unless you verify a link manually, you never know if that page is now in a bad neighborhood. For example, there was a real estate agent that actively traded links over the last year. For whatever reason the domain expired and was bought up by someone who then posted adult content to that domain.

You can mitigate penalties for linking to bad neighborhoods by creating a sub domain for all of your links, For more information, see the benefits of using subdomains for links (http://www.realestatelinkhq.com/subdomains.htm).

We use a tool called Link Survey. It's from a company called "antssoft.com". You can try it for free. The cost of the software is $50.

OK, here's a really low-tech solution to the problem.

After you wife has gone to bed, stay up late on the computer, have a few beers, and click on every link on your site. If the link on another site to yours has disappeared, send the webmaster a nasty email telling him that his link is gone from your site.

I recomend not spending much time on link exchanges as they have less relevance than 1 way links. Spend your time drinking beers adding links and comments in forums related to your site instead or doing something else on this list http://www.realestateforum.com/showthread.php?p=19751#post19751 that is worthwhile.

I use a free reciprocal link tracker script from: reciprocallinkpro.com

It is very nice in that it creates a search engine friendly directory.

How does it work exactly?

Reciprocal Link Pro works basically by installing on your website and then when logged in, you can manage categories and links from within. I like the fact that it can get potential reciprocal link partners with a click of the button with Pagerank and valid email addresses.

Everything is automated so you can pretty much just install it and just let people add links into your directory. Of course, the software will filter links before adding them to your directory - you define the criteria. Overall, I like the script and it's free! :D

If that is the case, just get out of the business.

It is better to get a low paid job where you can go to bed with you wife.

Noting would be worth more than that.

(if your wife see this post, you may not have to worry about that any more)
