MLS sites?

I would like to say that the internet is not a death for realtors,but helpful tool.Of course there is a some adventages and negatives like:
MLS site may give all the necessary information but it certainly doesn't mean that will discribe to whole picture the prospect.Don't forget that internet is a machine it is not a human.Some clients may need a little push when we talkin about buying bacause they may have some fears,most important they have a different psychology and not all of them are taft dealers and buyers.If i put myself into the place of the client i will ask my realtor for full inspectation of the property ,i will not count on the pics from the listing.Some of you will disagree because that mean spending time in driving to the the property which not everytime is beneficial for the realtor but for me it gives more advantage infront the internet sites.I stand behind the idea that internet could not replace the realtor at the moment,even though some feels the treat.

Yeah you make some valid points. I think if you arent comfortable with the computer yet and your in this business, you better get comfortable real quick!!!

I absolutely agree with you, as I think most Realtors would. My clients are all very internet savvy....they spend a lot of time researching and are very informed by the time they talk to me. They can check out listings, search the MLS but we still get in the car and go and physically look at houses so I'm not sure why you think we wouldn't do that part. The beauty of the Internet and the the ability of the being able to search for properties is you can do it from your home, it takes a lot of the leg work out of it for the home buyer...that way when you actually go to look at the homes you are seeing the ones you are really interested in.....makes for happy buyers in my book. I think the Internet has made it possible for me to do a much better job for my clients..........just my opinion of course..............and we all have one don't we:)

I agree as well. Agents that embrace the Internet and understand the Internet savvy client will survive and thrive. Those agents that can't grasp this may be left behind.

I feel that I have an advantage, because many of the agents I've met are not very tech savvy.

Ye you have to push through. I always tell people take a intro to computers class at your count college and you will learn a lot!!

The technically education in this time is absolutely necessery for any proffesion,not only for the real estate agents but for anyone.I just meant that the eye in eye contact is very important so we should not neglect it.

I think there is some confusion regarding the function of a real estate site. I don't believe anyone is saying the internet will replace the Realtor and that should never be the goal of a RE website. IMHO the web site is a tool for the agent to introduce themselves, and begin the trust process with a potential customer. Obviously, web site organization, SEO and content play a big role in the "Trust" process of getting to know the Realtor. Having an easy to access and easy to use MLS will help the customer get to know the Realtor.

It's important that a Realtor clarify their web site goals for themselves and then choose the tools that meet their present and future needs before building a web site. A good designer will listen and respond to the Realtor's REAL needs and not just push as much product as they can.

I agree also...as a new realtor i have to credit my site with atleast half of my sales...the internet will not replace us... it will help us.
